New Delhi: Markets ended within the unfavorable terrain on Thursday monitoring losses in index majors amid expiry of October derivatives contracts.
The BSE Sensex ended 172.61 factors or 0.43 p.c decrease at 39,749.85. Equally, the broader NSE Nifty fell 58.80 factors or 0.50 per cent to 11,670.80.
Main losers within the Sensex pack had been LT, Titan, ONGC, Axis Financial institution, HUL, NTPC, M&M, HDFC, Nestle, HDFC Financial institution, Solar Pharma and ITC, falling ulpto 4.99 p.c. However, main gainers had been Asian Paint, Ultrachem, HCL Tech, Kotak Financial institution, ICICI Financial institution, RIL, TCS, Tech Mahindra and Bajaj Finance, rising upto 2.79 p.c.
Bourses in Hong Kong, Seoul and Tokyo ended on a unfavorable word, whereas Shanghai was within the optimistic territory. Equities in Europe had been buying and selling larger in early offers.
In the meantime, worldwide oil benchmark Brent crude was buying and selling 3.15 per cent decrease at USD 38.39 per barrel.
The rupee in the meantime continued its downward journey, sliding one other 23 paise to shut at 74.10 towards the US greenback.
