New Delhi: Markets opened within the unfavourable zone on Thursday forward of the expiry of October by-product contracts.
The BSE Sensex fell 152.03 factors or 0.38 p.c to 39,770.43 in early commerce whereas the NSE Nifty dropped 48.15 factors or 0.41 p.c to 11,681.45.
Main losers within the Sensex pack have been LT, ONGC, Titan, HUL, HDFC Financial institution, SBI, Bajaj Auto, IndusInd Financial institution, Tech Mahindra, Maruti, Solar Pharma and M&M, falling upto 4.13 p.c. Then again, main gainers have been Asian Paint, Ultrachem, TCS, Bajaj Finserce, RIL, Kotak Financial institution, ICICI Financial institution, Bharti Airtel, ITC and Bajaj finance, rising upt 2.13 p.c.
The rupee in the meantime, continued its downward journey on Thursday, sliding one other 18 paise to 74.05 in opposition to the US greenback in opening commerce, monitoring weak opening in home equities amid international threat aversion.
Within the earlier session, Sensex ended 599.64 factors or 1.48 per cent decrease at 39,922.46, and Nifty tanked 159.80 factors or 1.34 per cent to shut at 11,729.60.
Trade information confirmed that international institutional traders offered equities price Rs 1,130.98 crore on a web foundation on Wednesday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Common fell 824.06 factors, or 3%, to 26,639.13, the S&P 500 misplaced 98.51 factors, or 2.91%, to three,292.17 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 334.78 factors, or 2.93%, to 11,096.58. The pan-European STOXX 600 index misplaced 2.95%. MSCI`s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outdoors Japan closed 0.66% decrease, whereas Japan`s Nikkei misplaced 0.29%, a Reuters report stated.
